Just as Purdue needed so good news on Monday, it came in the form of a commitment. This evening, 2014 power forward Jacquil Taylor has verbally pledged his commitment to the Boilermakers.
2014 PF Jacquil Taylor
Jacquil Taylor is a 6-9, 205-pound power forward out of Beaver Country Day (MA). 247Sports ranks Taylor as the 227th prospect in the country and three star talent.
Taylor visited Purdue this past weekend for his first and final official visit.
"It was really good," Jacquil said about his official to Purdue. "The best part of the trip was learning about how many professionals they sent to the league and knowing that not one person at the school had one bad thing to say about (Matt Painter).
Purdue came into the recruitment late as did most schools because of the injury Taylor sustained in January of this year. His Lisfranc fracture to his foot set his progress as a prospect back.
He's a late-bloomer and Matt Painter is very good at finding under-the-radar types like Taylor and turning them into the players they can be. This is just his next pet project.
"Yea," Taylor said about coming to Purdue next season and contributing. "I honestly feel like I can do some damage at Purdue.
