Deangelo Yancey, who only a few days ago cut ties with Kentucky, wasn't on the market for very long.
"I committed to Purude," the receiver from Atlanta (Ga.) Mays told 247Sports on Saturday night.
The 6-feet-2, 200-pound Yancey originally committed to Kentucky last July. But when the Wildcats hired a new staff this winter, Kentucky and Yancey ultimately decided to go their separate ways.
Yancey was on his official visit to Purdue when he made the pledge.
"It just feels like home," he said. "The coaches are so down to Earth. Purdue is a place I can see myself at for the next few years. It's where I felt most wanted."
Yancey is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Composite.
Keith Niebuhr's take --
"I had a chance to see Deangelo last summer at a camp at Ole Miss. For the most part, he impressed. He has an excellent frame, and is solid at the line of scrimmage. Not only does he have active hands, his first step is relatively quick. He's a bigger target that can use that body well against smaller cornerbacks. Is he polished? No. But does he have some potential? Yes. One thing he can improve on is what he does after the catch."
