Purdue Flips Panfil

Purdue Boilermakers

New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way Central defensive end Evan Panfil has confirmed with 247Sports that he committed to Purdue.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Panfil was previously pledged to Illinois. However, with the Illini recently losing defensive line coach Keith Gilmore to North Carolina, Panfil decided to look into other options.

"It was tough with Coach Gilmore leaving and I just felt more comfortable at Purdue," Panfil said.

Other programs to offer Panfil includes Ball State, Bowling Green, Colorado State, New Mexico, Toledo, Western Michigan and Wyoming.

As a senior, Panfil had 55 tackles and nine sacks.

Panfil becomes commit No. 20 for Purdue in the class-of-2013.
