In a bit of good news surrounding the wide receivers for the Purdue Football team, head coach Darrell Hazell said on Sunday during a press conference that wide receiver Danny Anthrop will only miss 6-8 weeks with what he called a MCL injury.
During Purdue's Jersey Scrimmage on Saturday, Danny Anthrop took a rush up the middle and ran through the line. As he came out the other side, he went down in pain, holding his left knee.
Purdue has had it's share of knee injuries over the past 5 years. This is one that looks like it could have been a lot worse.
Both players will attempt to get back before the September 28th game against Northern Illinois. That is a target date based on the expectation of 6 weeks of recovery. Purdue has some depth at the wide receiver position with Dolapo Macarthy, B.J. Knauf, Deangelo Yancey, and others.
