Jones may round out the fall with visits to Illinois, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
One of the top offensive tackles in the country in the junior class in Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle’s Jamarco Jones, visited Purdue on Saturday for the Boilermakers game against Penn State.
This was the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Jones’s second visit to West Lafayette. He previously made it down in the summer where he picked up his Purdue offer.
“It went pretty well,” Jones said.
“I just got to see the coaching staff in action. They really pushed the kids to the end, even with the tough loss. I got to experience game day and their town a little bit.”
Ranked by the 247Composite as the nation’s No. 10 offensive tackle and No. 54 prospect overall, Jones said he may try to go to the Illinois game this coming Saturday and the Notre Dame-Wake Forest game in South Bend on Nov. 17. He definitely plans to be at the Ohio State-Michigan game in Columbus on Nov. 24.
Earlier this fall, Jones visited Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern and Wisconsin for games. Every program mentioned has offered.
Other schools that have extended Jones an early scholarship includes Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.
