Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle Top247 junior running back Mikale Wilbon landed his first offer from Purdue back in July.
On Saturday, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound Wilbon got his first opportunity to visit the campus.
Also holding early scholarships from Illinois and Iowa, Wilbon made the trip with his teammate and fellow Top247 prospect in junior offensive tackle Jamarco Jones.
"I liked how their fan base was and what they do on the field during pregame," Wilbon said. "Their band was amazing."
Wilbon also got a chance to talk with Boilermakers Supervisor of Player Personnel Kevin Maurice.
"He was just saying I need to comeback," Wilbon recapped. "Me and Jamarco came late so we didn't really get a tour."
Wilbon isn't sure when he'll get back to West Lafayette. He said he could visit Illinois this Saturday and he plans to get to Michigan State on Nov. 17 and then Ohio State on Nov. 24.
Wilbon is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 11 running back and No. 129 prospect overall.
