It’s the bye week for Purdue and Boilermakers head coach Danny Hope is on the road doing some recruiting.
Purdue coach Danny Hope will visit Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove TE Nate Wozniak on Wednesday.
-This week, Hope has been in to see in-state Purdue commits in quarterback Danny Etling and running back David Yancey. Yancey took an unofficial visit to Wisconsin this past weekend and left the Madison campus saying the Boilermakers are still his No. 1 choice.
-Hope will be in to see Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove tight end/offensive tackle Nate Wozniak on Wednesday. Wozniak has a top-two of Purdue and Miami. We had heard in the past the 6-foot-10, 255-pound Wozniak was looking to set an official to see the Hurricanes campus for the Florida State game the weekend of Oct. 20. Wozniak has made several visits to West Lafayette and is high on Purdue. With the Boilermakers having set the bar, the visit to Miami would be to see how the Hurricanes stack up.
-Texas running back Traylon Shead remains a top target for the Boilers and Purdue will visit the Centerville Cayuga standout sometime this week.
The next time Purdue will be on the football field, they’ll host the Thundering Herd at Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 29. The visitor list is shaping up nicely.
-Lithonia (Ga.) Stephenson linebacker Kight Dallas is expected to take an official visit. A South Carolina pledge going back to April, we’re hearing there’s a good chance he doesn’t end up signing with the Gamecocks.
-Atlanta (Ga.) Carver offensive tackle Delando Crooks is also expected to take an official visit. Georgia Tech is looking like the Boilermakers main competition.
-Another big visitor expected is in-state Top247 defensive end Elijah Daniel of Avon High. Daniel has been committed to Clemson since June but has softened on his pledge. He’s also considering Florida, Indiana, Ole Miss and Marshall, where his older brother Armonze is a red-shirt freshman defensive lineman. Daniel took an official to the Thundering Herd campus this past weekend.
Atlanta (Ga.) Carver OT Delando Crooks is expected on campus for the Marshall game next weekend.
