Looking at all the players that we are familiar with on the 2014 class that are not STARRED or ranked by the various services whch two or three do you think have a chance to blow up over the summer AAU season. Just thinking about Mack Mercer, Plymouth, and Jackson Davis, Kentucky. Thoughts?
I think Mack Mercer will have a huge summer. His defense is close to taking a step forward and if it does, it might convince more HM's to start offering.
I also like Vic Law to become a household name. He has impressed some top scouts in a few games but he needs to be more consistent. The AAU circuit allows you to get on runs. One big run and he could have a lot of people knocking on his door.
Jalen Coleman could be another guy. He has to reel in his shot a bit. He tends to put up bad shots too often but he has had to change his game since the beginning of the season a bit because of personnel and style of play. Jalen has done well in that regard. He's already a big name, at least as far as I'm concerned but it could go national this summer.
Mack Mercer for sure as an instate guy. PJ Thompson will be another to watch. Just depends on if purdue needs a guard or not. Some other guys will definitely emerge over next couple months.
Sam Logwood could be another guy I forgot to mention that could blow up so to speak. He had a really good season at Lalu along with Jonathan wilkins who also deserves some attention. Sean Sellers of Greensburg (eg10) could end up getting some hm looks as well.
I'm anxious to see Wilkins in an AAU setting. He hasn't been overly impressive in the times I have seen him but he does look like it might start coming together.
I'm going to start working on some AAU Team Previews later next week. Teams are finalizing their rosters and once that is done I'll start working on them. Hearing a few rumors about some potential monster teams loading up this season. It's great to live in Indiana.
Really like the idea of Sellers. Hear he's added some athleticism to his game since last summer.

Ya. I saw him play Batesville in Sectionals this year. He's turned from a guy that had a little dribble drive and was mainly in the post to a guy that can handle the ball on the perimeter, knock down a shot, and is much more adept at getting to the basket. Still need to see some more weight/strength but moving in the right direction.
